Session 5: Leveraging Your Rights as an Author: Copyright and Scholarly Publishing

Course Description

  • In this session we will help you learn about your rights as an author, including how to use your rights under copyright law to both protect your work from the possible threats that exist in publishing and empower you as a creator of scholarship. Topics will include protecting your work from predatory publishers, negotiating publishing contracts, navigating copyright law, and utilizing open licenses to promote your scholarship while retaining control of it.
