What you should know:  An alternative to the Apple iPad, the Nexus 7 is an Android tablet device. Enjoy full funcationality of your Google Account right from this device. Don't have a Google Account? You can still explore the Nexus' capabilties such as wi-fi connection for web browsing, e-mail, and social networking.

Using the Nexus 7 (Android) Tablet

You will get:

  • Nexus 7 Tablet
  • Power Adapter

Setup

Screen 1: Welcome

Select your preferred language then tap arrow.

   Example:  English (UK)

Screen 2: Select Wi-Fi

You may connect to CaseGuest, Case Wireless, or your personal home wireless internet.

Screen 3: Got Google?

CWRU student's Case Network IDs will NOT work as an authentic Google Account. You must have a personal account to set into the Nexus tablet device.

If you have a Google Account, continue by choosing Yes to connect your account to the Nexus tablet device. You will then come to a few extra screens that ask if you’d like to:

  • Join Google+ (optional)

  • Backup and Restore (optional)

If you do not have a Google Account, select No. You will be asked to either create an account or skip by choosing "Not Now".

Screen 4: Google & Location

This screen alerts you that the tablet would like to access your location. If you prefer not to allow the device to find your location, unclick the small check boxes beside it.

Click the right-pointing arrow to continue.

Screen 5: This tablet belongs to…

You may add your name when prompted to name who the tablet belongs to. If you do not wish to use your own name, feel free to add "Freedman Center" instead.

Screen 6: Google Services

This screen is simply a terms and privacy policy agreement notification. To “agree”, click the right-pointing arrow.

Screen 7: Now, your setup should be complete!
