Haydn Hall will be closed for construction during summer 2018. The nature of this work means Kulas Music Library will have to function a bit differently.
Will Kulas be open during the summer?
No. Kulas will close after 5PM Friday, May 18th until mid-August (date TBD). Kulas collections (print and media) will be unavailable during the closure. Online resources will still be available.
If you think you may need an item during the summer, we encourage you to check it out before May 18th. Due dates will be extended through the summer.
Why will the library be closed?
Haydn Hall is undergoing HVAC renovations and asbestos removal. The entire building will be closed during construction.
What are my options for accessing library materials?
You will still be able to request items through OhioLink and/or Interlibrary loan. KSL staff will notify local libraries (e.g. Oberlin, CIM, etc.) to let them know they might see visitors from our community due to the closure.
Our reference collection will be stored on the third floor of KSL during summer to accommodate graduate students completing their degree programs. Reference items must be used within the library, but users with a CWRU ID can take advantage of the 24x7 access offered at KSL.

When can I return my items to Kulas?
You have two options. You can keep the items until Kulas reopens for the fall semester OR return the items to Kelvin Smith Library. The dropbox outside Haydn Hall will be locked and unavailable until Kulas reopens.
Will Kulas librarians be available during summer?
Yes. Jacey and Jeffrey will be working in temporary offices in KSL throughout the summer.
Contact Jacey at 216.368.6676 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Contact Jeffrey at 216.368.6677 or email@example.com.
How will I know when the library reopens?
Announcements will be posted to this guide and shared with the CWRU music community via internal bulletin board.
