Kelvin Smith Library
It's not at Case or OhioLINK? ILLiad gets it from our world-wide lending partners.
Articles are electronically delivered to your ILLiad account & requests have real-time tracking data.
If you have a citation that identifies a journal article, it's easy to find out if we have it.
Start with the journal title (not the article title.) Check for Case-licensed electronic access. If it's not a match, check for print. If not found, we can get articles via ILLiad services.
TIP: Always make sure your laptop or device is on Case Wireless or VPN before you start to search for electronic content.
If you are using VPN, sign in to it before you open a browser window–check for the green light at the bottom of the KSL Homepage.
"Does Case Have This Journal?"
Journal titles at Case can be quickly searched 2 ways:
The Ejournals Portal is a convenient quick link near the top of the Case Catalog page.
Below is a sample of operations journals covering a range of applicable topics.
TIP: Search the Case Catalog & EJournals Portal on any open web site–but to select hyperlinks & connect to the journals, your computer must on the network. See the VPN memo on this guide's home page tab.
Journal Citation Reports (JCR) database, produced by the Institute for Scientific Information (formerly known as ISI, now as a tool within the database Web of Science), is one tool often used to identify journal research influence and impact factors, and to identify top journals in a discipline. While numerous factors complicate any ranking activities, JCR is well-regarded.
Use it several ways:
JCR very recently has undergone a significant redesign, with charts, graphs, visualizations, and more. Excellent recorded short training videos from the company help to explain Impact Factor(s), Immediacy Index, and more.
NOTE: Additionally, the database Web of Science (WOS) is the platform that includes JCR in the top banner, for easy access. Cited Reference is the default landing screen in WOS, where Author Search and/or Cited Reference Search allows you to track prior research and authors to identify active journals.
Select JCR or Web of Science from the KSL list of Research Databases. Tip: Select Business from the All Subjects drop-down menu for resources most relevant for WSOM.
