KSL's current loanable technology collection are found at the Tech Table, directly to the right of the Service Center. Staff will retrieve your desired kit if available and check it out at the Service Center with an appropriate CWRU or CIM ID.
Available for checkout to CWRU & CIM students, faculty, and staff at the Service Center. CWRU Alumni, CIA, Public or Visiting patrons are not permitted to check out loanable equipment kits.
Please treat the kit as if it were your own. Let us know if you have lost or damaged the equipment. You're only financially responsible for the loss or damages, not the entire kit.
Cell Phone Software: WiFi Check (Apple Store) or WiFi Check (Google Play Store)
1. Download "WiFi Check" Cellphone application.
→ The application icon looks like this:
2. Turn on the Microscope by holding the power button for 3 seconds.
3. Going to your phone's WiFi settings, find the Microscope's WiFi hotspot and connect to it.
→ Hotspot name "HD- Microscope" will remain the same between kits but the ending numbers will be different between the kits.
4. Open "WiFi Check." Your magnified image will appear.
→ Use the Light Brightness to adjust additional light, and the gray Magnification Wheel to focus or magnify your image. The zoom buttons may be utilized while in the software and can view up to 2x.
Computer Software: Cainda X201 WiFi Microscope
1. Insert the USB into an available port on your computer.
2. Turn on the Microscope by holding the power button for 3 seconds.
3. Open your Camera application.
→ You may have to switch the camera's orientation to be able to view through the microscope. To do this, switch the camera from user facing to front facing.
4. Your magnified image will appear. Take photos or videos, and make quick post-edits with your computer's photo gallery software.
→ None of the buttons will function outside of turning the microscope on and off. Downloading the cellphone software will allow these buttons to function correctly.
You are passing on the equipment to the next hands. Be courteous.
Replace Lens Cap
Click the lens cap back onto the Microscope so it protects the viewing lens from debris and scratches.
