There are 4 Viewing Stations in the Freedman Center for watching various media formats, ask a Freedman Center Student Assistant for help getting started!
Before We Get Started
Check out a pair of analog headphones and an audio jack adapter from the Service Center Desk and take a seat at one of the individual viewing stations with a VCR player beside the monitor, located at the computers outside the collaboration common.
Insert the analog headset into the audio jack adapter.
NOTE: You are now able to use the headphones without the adapter at the viewing stations.
Insert the adapter and headphones into the audio jack port that is next to the monitor. The the slider indicated in the red box controls the volume of the corresponding audio port. In this case, it one indicated in the red box corresponds to the two audio ports indicated by red arrows.
Setting up the Video Audio Switch:
Select: OPTION 1 to use the VHS player
Select: OPTION 2 to use the DVD player
Setting Up the Station
Turn on the monitor by pressing the POWER button on the Roku Stick.
The screen will open to ROKU Home, where you can select VCR.
Next to the monitor is the International VHS Player (Samsung) or International DVD Player (Toshiba).
The buttons, in order from left to right on the top device (DVD player) are: Power, Open, Rewind, Fast Forward, Stop, Play/Pause.
On the bottom device (VHS player), the Power button is the one all the way to the left, the Play, Rewind, and Fast Forward buttons are all the way to the right and the Pause and Stop buttons are beneath the play, rewind, and fast forward buttons.
If you are watching a VHS, power on the VHS player and insert your tape to watch.
Make sure only the VHS player is powered on.
Press Play and enjoy!
If you are watching a DVD, power on the DVD player and insert your DVD to watch.
Make sure only the DVD player is powered on.
Insert your DVD into the top device using the open tray button, located all the way to the left. (Remember to close the tray).
The remotes are located to the left of the devices.
