What is ArcGIS Online

What is AGOL?

ArcGIS Online is a web platform for making, uploading, sharing, and working with maps, layers, and spatial data. With ArcGIS Online, users can create web maps from scratch, make new layers, upload maps and layers from their desktop computer, browse other layers from members of our organization or from around the world, and combine all of these features to generate custom maps, apps, and presentations.

CWRU has an ArcGIS Online organization, where all content shared by our users can be explored and utilized. The URL of our organization is cwru.maps.arcgis.com.

When users have joined our ArcGIS Online organization, they can sign into ArcMap or ArcGIS Pro to access all of these web resources in their desktop software.
