Bluetooth Headphones on Freedman Center Computers

Info About Computers

The Freedman Center computers run Windows 11. To see the specific version, access "System Information" from the start window. This should assist you with identifying if there is a known issue between your device and the operating system.

Bluetooth Strength

Some computers in the Freedman Center have an external antenna, pictured below, that increases the strength and range of the signal for that device. If you are using a machine with an external antenna, try moving it closer to you to see if that resolves your audio issues.

Known Issues: Airpods

Apple Airpods do not always work seamlessly with Windows machines. If the audio sounds like you are underwater or echoes, a few things should help:

  1. Disable Spatial Sound (help link)
  2. Disable AirPods Hands-Free (help link)
  3. Disable the AirPods as a microphone under System → Sounds → More Sound Settings → Recording. Right-click and "Disable" the device as a microphone.
