Step 1: Before borrowing this camera, it is a good idea to borrow a tripod for the camcorder as well, depending on what you want to achieve. Remember that the library only lends equipment for two nights.
Step 2: To turn on the camcorder, simply open it up. You do not need to set up the home region/time, but can if you want to.
Step 3: IA mode is an intelligent auto shoot mode, meaning all you have to do is point at your object and shoot. However, you can go through the menus to select what is best for you.
Step 4: The camera is touchscreen, so you can use the arrow keys on the screen.
Step 5: For this camcorder, the battery does not need to be removed because you can charge the camera directly from the camera. Do not assume that the camera is already charged when you first get it, we do not leave the equipment charging in the cabinets so it really depends on if the previous user charged it before returning the camera.
Step 6: To export media, you can either use the memory card if you have a memory card reader on your computer, or you can use the USB port directly inserted in the camera.
Step 7: On the side of the camera, there is a headphone jack and the DC 5V input. Use this input to charge the camera with the given cable, a USB cable on one side along with the block.
Step 8: There is also a USB cable for data transferring included when borrowing the camcorder. The USB goes into the camera while the USB-A side inserts into the computer. If your computer does not have USB-A, try to get an adapter.
Step 9: The camera does have a manual slider that you can configure for things like manual focus located on the side of the lens.
Step 10: In the menu system, click 'Menu' > 'Set up' > go down to page six > Format Media, click 'yes' and 'yes' again to format the memory card. This ensures that any data left on the camera is cleared for you to start fresh.
