What is in the equipment kit and how to borrow.

Checking - Out

KSL's current loanable technology collection are found at the Tech Table, directly to the right of the Service Center. Staff will retrieve your desired kit if available and check it out at the Service Center with an appropriate CWRU or CIM ID.

Available for checkout to CWRU & CIM students, faculty, and staff at the Service Center. CWRU Alumni, CIA, Public or Visiting patrons are not permitted to check out loanable equipment kits.

Treatment of Equipment

We understand that accidents occur. Please treat the kit as if it were your own. Let us know if you have lost or damaged the equipment. You're only financially responsible for the loss or damages, not the entire kit.

Pre-Check

Charging & Deleting Old Media

To ensure that you have a completely free SD card and a full battery, check the camera beforehand KSL is not responsible for charging the equipment or removing files from the SD card. We advise patrons to be courteous to the users that follow by charging and deleting files but sometimes, that just doesn't happen.

Playing with the Camera

We highly recommend getting to know the camera, the settings and its functions before you begin filming. YouTube has hundreds of tutorials and tips-tricks to get you started with the Panasonic HC-V770. We aren't going to reinvent the wheel when it comes to "How-To"s.

Housekeeping

Think how you'd like to have received the camera; SD card free from the previous user's media files, and fully charged. You are passing on the equipment to the next hands. Be courteous.

Deleting Media Files

Library Staff are NOT responsible for removing media files from the cameras, so if there is anything you don't want to be seen by the next user please delete or transfer the files.

Charging the Camera

We hope that each user thinks of the next patron and returns a camera with a full charge. Library staff are NOT expected to charge the camera.

Transferring Media

BE AWAREThe Library is NOT responsible with removing your media from the SD card. If you don't want your media files to be seen by the next user, please remove them. We highly recommend NOT removing the SD card and USE THE PROVIDED DATA CABLE.
