All Freedman Center software is updated to the latest stable version of the software as of the start of each semester. We offer three ways of understanding software on FC computers.
If you notice something is broken (or prompting for an authorization) please email FreedmanCenter@case.edu and indicate which machine you were using and what software package was giving you the error.
Artisteer - a tool that allows you to create themes for websites and CMS like Wordpress using a WYSIWYG interface. ($$$)
Agisoft Metashape - a photogrammetry tool for turning photos into 3D models. ($$$)
Zephyr Free - a free photogrammetry tool for turning photos into 3D models.
Omnipage Ultimate 19 - OCR Optical Character Recognition software for converting scanned images into editable text documents. [$$$]
Plustek Book Pavilion - this is the software that controls the Plustek OpticBook A300 book edge scanner and allows you to scan many pages from a book quickly (and flat). Once you are setup, you can control the entire process using the buttons on the scanner.
Epson Fast Foto - this is the software that controls the Epson FastFoto scanner, this is a sheet fed photo scanner (for paper documents use the Plustek PS286). It can even scan double sided!
Silverfast 8 - this is the software that controls the Plustek OpticFilm 8200i scanner for 35mm strip negatives or 35mm slides. This is a very powerful scanner and we have a very detailed guide for it.
PowerScan 7.3 - this is the software that controls the ImageData ScanPro3500 scanner for scanning Microfilm, Microfiche, and Microcards. This is a very powerful scanner and we have a very detailed guide for it.
Epson Scan - is for EPSON Expression 11000 XL Scanner with Transparency Adapters and EPSON Expression 10000 XL Scanner both are large flatbed scanners.
Plustek Smart Office - is the Plustek PS286 Scanner, but most people scan documents with the Plustek PS286 using Adobe Acrobat, see the libguide for more information.

ArcGIS Deep Learning Libraries - are a series of tools to use AI and Deep Learning to solve geospatial problems, such as feature extraction, pixel classification, and feature categorization.
SPSS - is a software program for statistical data analysis. [Software Center $$$]
SPSS Amos - is a specialized statistical software program that can fit a class of statistical models called structural equation models (SEM). [Software Center $$$]
Mathtype - is mathematical equation annotation software. [Software Center]
Origin - is software for interactive scientific graphing and data analysis. [Software Center]
Nvivo - is a software program used for qualitative and mixed-methods research. Specifically, it is used for the analysis of unstructured text, audio, video, and image data, such as interviews, focus groups, surveys, social media, and journal articles. [Software Center]
Grass GIS - is a powerful open-source computational engine for raster, vector, and geospatial processing. It supports terrain and ecosystem modeling, hydrology, data management, and imagery processing. With a built-in temporal framework and Python API, it enables advanced time series analysis and rapid geospatial programming, optimized for large-scale analysis on various hardware configurations
QGIS - is a free, open-source software that allows users to create, edit, visualize, analyze, and publish geospatial information.
Gephi - is open source software for visualization and exploration of all kinds of graphs and networks.
Notepad++ is a free source code editor and Notepad replacement that supports several languages.
Visual Studio Code - Visual Studio Code, is a development environment developed by Microsoft for Windows, Linux, macOS and web browsers and supports many programming languages, including C, C#, C++, Fortran, Go, Java, JavaScript, Node.js, Python, Rust, and Julia.
Python - is a high-level, general-purpose programming language with a design philosophy that emphasizes code readability. There are over 500,000 packages available for Python and it runs on every platform.
R - is a programming language for statistical computing and data visualization. It has been adopted in the fields of data mining, bioinformatics, and data analysis.
RStudio Desktop - RStudio is an integrated development environment (IDE) for R and Python.
Access to Data on O Drive - is a collection of geospatial data layers - raster and vector - concerning places and topographies around the world at scales ranging from global to city.
QDAMinor - is qualitative data analysis software for organizing, coding, annotating, retrieving, and analyzing collections of documents and images.

Subtitle Edit - is open source software for creating, opening, editing, and converting video subtitle track files.
Insta360 Studio - is video editing software for 360° video recorded on the Insta360 camera (lent at the Service Desk).
Handbrake - is free software for converting video file formats.
Audacity - is free software for audio editing and cleaning.

PTGui Pro - is panorama photo stitching software. ($$$)
Object2VR studio - is software for 360° object photography, editing and publishing. ($$$)
Pano2VR pro - is powerful virtual tour software that converts panoramic or 360° photos and videos into interactive experiences. ($$$)
Magix Music Maker 28 - is a DAW (digital audio workstation) for making music. ($$$)

Blender - is a free open-source 3D creation suite that supports the entirety of the 3D pipeline including modeling, rigging, animation, simulation, rendering, compositing and motion tracking, even video editing and game creation
