Day of CMA Collage Contest
To celebrate the Cleveland Museum of Art releasing much of their digital collection into the public domain we are inviting people to create collages using images from their open access collection. Browse the collection, find a few that pique your interest, and create your own digital artwork! Prizes totaling $3,000 will be distributed to the top entries.
Eligibility
All Case Western Reserve University undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and staff, as well as students from the Cleveland Institute of Music are eligible to participate. Cleveland Institute of Art students with an active CWRU network ID are also eligible to participate.
General Guidelines
All sources images must be from the Cleveland Museum of Art Open Access Collection

No other image sources (including original) can be used in the collage.
Artists may submit a maximum of 3 collages.
The final project entry must include:
- Artist Name
- Artwork Title
- A list of titles and URLs of all open source images used
Final artwork must be at 300DPI and saved as a JPG at the highest quality (in Photoshop this is 12).
While tutorials & templates are provided for Photoshop, artwork can be created in any software using any techniques at any size.
All entries must be digital. Physical collages created with the CMA Open Access images are eligible only if the artists scans the collage and then that scan is submitted.
Prizes
1st place: $1,000
2nd place: $500
3rd place: $250
Five additional prizes with up to $250 each will be awarded at the judges’ discretion.
Winners will be printed, mounted, and placed on display in the library.
