Where to find and how to borrow.

Checking - Out

Your University ID is required to check out a MacBook at our Laptop Kiosk. The kiosk is self-serve; by scanning your ID, the machine will loan the MacBook to your account. The Kiosk is found on the 1st floor near the library entrance and the Service Center.

Steps to Check Out

  1. Select your desired computer.
  2. Tap "Checkout."
  3. Read the "Laptop Computer Borrowing Program Agreement" and tap "Agree."
  4. The screen will prompt you to swipe your ID card.
  5. A laptop will release from the kiosk at random. 
  6. Once you are finished, return the laptop to an empty housing on the side matching your chosen laptop.

Logging In to the MacBook

Your CWRU Network ID (abc123) or University ID equivalent and your passphrase are your login credentials. 

If your borrowed laptop requests an Administrator password, please bring the laptop to the Service Center for staff.

Treatment of Equipment

Please treat the MacBook as if it were your own. Let us know at the Service Center if you have damaged the laptop.

Housekeeping

Before shutting down the laptop, ensure that your login profile is successfully logged out by going to the MacBook's Dock. We cannot guarantee shutting down the laptop will log out your account.
