Photo Negative / Photo Slide Scanner

1. Insert the key into the USB port on the left side of the monitor. Computer will open automatically to the Freedman Center main page. Minimize for future use.
 

2. On the desktop, find the “SilverFast 8” icon and open:

***This will take a few moments to load. If it seems to get stuck or not respond, please be patient, the scanner is loading!

3.A pre-home screen will appear like so. Select another operating language if desired (Available languages are English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Japanese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Korean, and Czech). Click "Start" on the bottom right.

4. Photo Negative - Photo Slide scanning home screen will look like the following:

When you open up the software, this red box is your viewfinder! Whatever is scanned within this viewfinder will be captured.

• You can manipulate the window;

  • Stretching and increasing/decreasing its length or width.

  • Proportionally changing the window’s size by pulling a corner.

  • Grabbing the entire red window and moving to a preferred section of image. 

  • Clicking and dragging the nobs will rotate the box like below.
