Any equipment kit that is overdue will accrue a $5 fine per day, and overdue fines will max out at $30.
If kits are overdue for longer than 6 days, the borrowing patron's library account will be billed for the cost of the loaned kit. Returning the complete and undamaged kit to the Service Center will remove the billed charge. All that would remain are the overdue fines.
Located in the Tech Table, the USB Optical Disc Drive Kit can be checked out at the Service Center.
Burning CDs or transfers data from CDs to computer. Additionally, as a secondary function and upon two software downloads, the Disc Drive can also play DVD or Blu-Ray films including international films. User must provide a personal device or must check-out a laptop from 1st floor kiosk.
Alternatives: We loan a Portable Blu-Ray Player that provides an all-in-one viewing experience for DVD and Blu-Rays without the hassle of bringing a personal or lending a laptop. In-house, KSL has viewing stations in the Freedman Center for watching films and film course reserves that cannot leave the building. KSL's Audio Visual Capture Studio captures audio or video but is not intended for viewing purposes.

Available for checkout to CWRU & CIM students, faculty, and staff at the Service Center. CWRU Alumni, CIA, Public or Visiting patrons are not permitted to check out loanable equipment kits.

USB Optical Disc Drive comes with 2 USB cables--a data cable and a back up battery cable. The player can burn CDs, and alternatively, watch DVD (including International) or Blu-Ray films with software downloads. Device plugs into user's personal computer or into a checked-out laptop from the 1st floor kiosk.
