Please use the studio as is. It is the loanee's responsibility to read the information provided within the Studio and the LibGuide, and they will be held liable for any damages occurred within the space. There have been numerous usage issues with the Selfie Studio in years past; patrons changing the studio, and breaking equipment and attachments then failing to disclose this with KSL staff.
1. READ THE LIBGUIDE.
→We cannot stress this enough.
2. Keep the main Studio light off at all times.
→Secondary standing lights will remain on until Alexa Commands are spoken. These lights will then turn off. The Studio exit command will reinitiate these secondary lights when you leave.
3. NO food or open drinks permitted.
→ Electronics do not need to mix with food and drink. To capitalize on this point, there is no trash can within the studio. Dispose of any accumulated trash when you leave.
4. Do not make any adjustments to equipment outside of the ones discussed through the directions. Do not force apart the equipment—they are purposefully epoxied and glued.
→ If you break it, own up to the damage and say something to Service Center Staff. Don't let us find the damage when you're gone.
5.“Caution Taped” equipment should not be adjusted or moved for any reason.
6. Do not move tripods.
7. Return podium or chairs to their original positions marked on floor map when you leave.
At this time, the Selfie Studio is open; no reservation and no key check-out is required to use the space. If the studio is locked, please visit the Service Center.
These commands can be found within the Studio above the TV Screen on the wall.
BE AWARE:
1. Initiating the command may take up to 5 seconds to activate.
2. Most In-Action commands will automatically shut off the unwanted lights. Lights have been labeled for ease of use.
3. To repeat directions, repeat the desired command.
We encourage you to play with the commands and find what works best for your needs.
Starting & Exiting Commands:
Turns Studio On → "Alexa, ACTION!”
Resets Studio → “Alexa, Standby.”
Turns Studio Off → “Alexa, Studio Off.”
In-Action Commands:
Portrait Light → “Alexa, Portrait Light.”
Ring Light→ “Alexa, Ring Light.”
Twin Lights → “Alexa, Spot Lights.”
To project your phone through the TV Screen, say "Alexa, TV Screen" and insert the appropriate phone cable. Success varies depending on phone operating system, with known success with iOS; we are working on fixing this for Android use.
Table Light → “Alexa, Table Light.”
When using the table light and you need all other lights out, say “Alexa, Lights Out”→ Deactivates any Lights On (except the Table Light).
Congrats, you've spoken your very 1st Selfie Studio Command. Whenever you check out the studio, you always begin with "Alexa, ACTION!" to get the studio running. The "On Air" sign hanging on the door will turn on at this time as well.
Alexa will cycle through the commands available during this start-up phase but these commands are always located above the TV Screen whenever needed.
