Common Technical Problems

  1. If a software package asking you to sign in or create an account, see the help page for software in the lab that require additional credentials. 
  2. See if we have a tutorial on the process you are trying to accomplish. If you are doing any kind of scanning, digitization, or A/V capture, we probably have what you are looking for. 

Get Help from Staff

During staffed lab times (see schedule), specialists in the lab can assist you. Speak with the staff member at the welcome desk in the lab or chat us through Ask KSL.

Outside of staffed lab times:

  1. Visit the Service Center, located outside of the glass, toward the front doors of KSL on the first floor
  2. Chat with a librarian through Ask KSL

If Staff Are Not Available:

Contact us through one of the means below, and we will get back to you within normal business hours, Monday to Friday.

  1. Report a technical problem (software not functioning, something will not turn on, etc.)
  2. Book an appointment with a specialist in the area you need assistance
  3. Email the Freedman Center (FreedmanCenter@case.edu) and describe the problem; we will connect you with the right person

The best ways to get assistance with digital scholarship topics and Freedman Center technology or programming are to:

  1. Book an appointment with a specialist in the area you need assistance
  2. Email the Freedman Center (FreedmanCenter@case.edu) and describe the project or problem; we will connect you with the right person
  3. Chat with a librarian on Ask KSL, who can direct you to the right person
