Looking to publish in an Open Access Journal? To find a suitable, trusted OA journal, you can try the following:

Browse the OA Publishing Opportunities available at CWRU
CWRU has agreements with Cambridge, Wiley, ECS, and IOP that allow CWRU authors to publish OA for free.
Go to the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and browse by field.
DOAJ only indexes journals that pass their high standards, ensuring you are selecting a trusted journal.
*Use the "Without article processing charges (APCs)" filter to find journals without publication charges.
Or paste your abstract into Open Journal Matcher and get suggestions for suitable OA journals.
Or search for journals that satisfy the Transparency and Openness Promotion (TOP) criteria.

Can I make my research open after signing a publisher agreement?

Even if your work was previously published, you may still be able to post it to make it openly available, including through a repository like Scholarly Commons @ CWRU. KSL staff can consult with authors and research rights with you to make a determination. If you have a contract with your publisher, check to see what it permits or check Sherpa Romeo. If you have questions or need guidance, please contact digitalcommons@case.edu and a librarian will work with you to review rights.
