JabRef

JabRef is a free reference manager with an easy the graphical interface allows the user to easily import, edit, search, group, and cite scholarly literature in the BibTeX format.  

Advantages:

  • direct export in BibTeX format from many databases
  • manages journal abbreviations
  • automatically create a BibTeX citation key in the manner of {AuthorSurnameYear}
  • citation is generated from the BibTeX file by LaTeX or Overleaf
