File Save Settings

The Scan Dimensions are found directly below the scanner's scan settings in a dropdown. Choosing a File Location Path and selecting a File Format are found here.

File Location

In the Path box, click the folder and browse to your documents or pictures folder.

  • Don't skip this step or you might not know where your files are
  • Save directly to the hard drive and then transferring to your device (saving directly to an external device will be slower and can corrupt the file)

File Format

Next to the Name box, select TIFF from the File Type dropdown. TIFF files are larger and saved without any loss or compression. You do not want to save directly to JPG (and they use lossy compression), but instead make a JPG copy from the TIFF after scanning (in a program like Adobe Photoshop). The goal is to never have to scan this slide or negative again.
