Oversize media items are kept in the whitetop cabinet next to the ANSCR shelves.
We have designated sections for booklets, boxed sets, and general oversize.

Oversized CD liner notes are pam-bound booklets, filed in accession order. Their catalog display shows an ANSCR call number followed by 'booklet'. If a patron hands you a liner note that reads 'booklet stored separately', it refers to one of these. Use the tree key to open the cabinet and retrieve the booklet, whose number matches the last 4 or 5 digits of the ANSCR call number. In the example below, the item number is 6248.

Note that in the Sierra record, two 099 fields are listed, but only the first one displays in the public catalog.

Boxed sets are sets of multiple CDs. The entire item is barcoded, rather than each individual disc.
Both the catalog display and the item label will show an 'S' after the accession number. The 'S' is for set.

In the example below, the item number is 5750S.

General oversize includes items that contain multiple discs, but are not kept in boxed sets. It also includes liner notes that are taller than the items found in the booklet section. Some of the items in this section contain discs and liner notes; other items consist solely of liner notes. They should have a 'booklet stored separately' placeholder in the liner note shelves, which helps you know to check the oversize cabinet. Their Sierra records include two 099 fields, one for ANSCR, one for oversize. Only the first 099 (ANSCR) displays in the public view.
