Reminder: Online Access

  • Library resources require going through CWRU Single Sign-On.
  • The best method is to follow links from the library website.
  • When logged in and a browser window is not closed, access should continue from resource to resource.
  • Remember to close your browser when done.

Find Books

All CWRU Libraries share their collections in the online catalog. Use the catalog to find books, DVDs and other items you can borrow. The catalog also includes names of print journals, government documents, and other items that can be used in the building.

When you find what you are looking for, check for information that tells you where the item is and if it is available for borrowing:

  • Location (which library has it)
  • Call Number (the number helps you find it on the shelves)
  • Status (shows whether or not it is available)

Example: Search the catalog for the book Smart Thinking: skills for critical understanding and writing

  • Location: Kelvin Smith Library Stacks (shelves)
  • Call Number: BC177.A46 2004
  • Status: "available"

Find eBooks

eBooks are listed in CWRU catalog as "electronic resource" and can be searched as any other book.
Another option is to search for eBooks in the specialized collections like the ones below:
