Materials are on a first come, first served basis only and are subject to availability.  Holds cannot be placed on equipment.  Different loan periods may apply for other items. When you check items out, your library account will indicate the due date for each item.  

Length of check-out: 2 nights. No renewals.

Returns: Equipment must be returned directly to Service Center staff persons for processing.   Borrowing is not available for this item again until the following business day.

Using the Sony CyberShot

You will get:

  • Sony Cybershot Digital Camera
  • USB Cable and Charger
  • Case

Turning on and off

The Power button is located on top of the camera. This button will both turn on and off the device.

Note: You may be prompted to set the time and date, in which you may do so. If you do not wish to set these items, continue to select Cancel by:

  1. Clicking down on the Control Wheel and click to “OK” (center of Control Wheel) -OR-
  2. Slowly turning the Control Wheel to the right or left until Cancel is selected then click to “OK” (center of Control Wheel)

 

Shooting still images and movies

Images

1.) Be sure to power on the device.

2.) Pressure shutter button halfway down to focus.

Tip: Press gently on the shutter button to enable focus. On the bottom of the screen it should read Tracking Focus.

3.) Press shutter button down completely to shoot an image.

 

Movies

1.) Press Movie button to switch to this mode. Recording begins as soon as you press this button.

2.) To end filming, press Movie button again.

 

Viewing Images

1.) Press the Playback button to view images.

2.) You can select to view the next or previous image by:

a.) Clicking the right or left side of the Control Wheel.

OR

b.) Slowly turning the Control Wheel to the right or left.

 

Viewing Movies

1.) Press the center of the Playback button and then Menu button.

2.) Press the center of the Control Wheel to select Still/Movie Select.

3.) Use the Control Wheel to select Folder View (MP4).

4.) To play movies press the center of the Control Wheel.

 

Deleting media files

1.) To delete the current image or movie file, click the ? button then select Delete and click to center of Control Wheel.

2.) To delete all images and movie files:

1. Click the Playback button.

2. Next, click the Menu button.

3. Navigate to select Delete, click center of Control Wheel to OK.

4. Select All in Folder, click center of Control Wheel.

5. Select Delete, click center of Control Wheel.

 

Extracting media files

1.) Plug USB Cable into side of camera and into an available USB port on your computer.

2.) Go to My Computer and select the camera as portable device storage.

3.) Double click Storage Media folder.

4.) Double click media folder (there may be multiple for images taken over several days).

5.) Select photo(s) you wish to copy over to your external (or internal) storage device.
